Biography
RICHARD GRAY currently teaches MT acting, audition, MT writing and cabaret technique at Cornish. He has also directed Cornish productions of The Theory of Relativity, Company, Lift, Nine, Quilters, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Grand Hotel, The Drowsy Chaperone, Head Over Heels, Chess, Amélie and Sweeney Todd. He has also guest taught at University of Texas, Montclair State University, ħ¶¼×ÊÔ´Íø Children’s Theatre and the 5th Avenue Theatre. As an actor, recent performances include roles in Come From Away, The Nance (Gregory Award nomination), Murder For Two (Gregory Award winner), Assassins, First Date, Spamalot, A Room With A View, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, The Producers, and Chicago (Gregory Award nomination). As a composer, Richard was named one of 5 finalists in both 2005 and 2006 for the Fred Ebb Award honoring up-and-coming new musical theatre writers. His musicals include Dick Whittington, The Flea and The Professor (Barrymore Award – Best Musical), Lyle The Crocodile, Cold Turkey, Time Again in Oz and The Long Game. Outside of theater, he is honored to be the longest reigning “King Neptune” of ħ¶¼×ÊÔ´Íø’s Seafair Festival (2019-2023).
